According to the American president, Russian president Vladimir Putin is responsible for this death if the reports are confirmed.
"Even in prison, he was a powerful voice for the truth," Biden said of Navalny. He also recalled that Navalny had previously survived a poisoning attempt.
According to Biden, Putin is killing people not only outside of Russia, particularly in Ukraine, but also Russians themselves.
In his speech, Joe Biden also called on the House of Representatives to approve aid to Ukraine:
"We have to help now. Instead of going on a two-week vacation. Two weeks! They are walking away! Two weeks! What are they thinking, my God! This is outrageous," the president emotionally shouted.
In addition, according to Biden, now is the time for even greater unity among NATO allies to counter the threat posed by Putin's Russia.
